Raspberry Pi is the single board, tiny and credit card sized computer came in the international market on 29 February 2012,   It works like a normal computer on a very cheapest amount between $5 to $35. It's a portable device, you can carry it from one place to the other.

It's can be used for many tasks that your computer does, play Audio and HD video, play games, make spreadsheets and work related to programming etc.

Components of Raspberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi device looks like a cell phone motherboard, with the mounted chips and ports. It has a USB port, an Ethernet port, HDMI port etc.

1.USB Port --  Its use for connecting all peripheral device (including mouse, keyboard)

2. HDMI  Port -- This connector connects the high definition television or other compatible device using an  HDMI cable.

3.SD Card slot --Without SD card you cant  installed the operating system in your device, An SD card with an operating  system  installed is required for booting the device.

4. Ethernet --  In Raspberry Pi   Model B  consists of Ethernet port,   it allows for wired network access.

5. Audio Output --  This connector is used for connecting an audio output device such as headphones or speakers.  There is no audio in for sound.

6. LEDs -- Light-emitting diodes, its use for providing light for all of your indicators.

7. RCA jack  --  An RCA jack allows connection of analog TV and other similar Output devices.

8. GPIO -- A powerful feature of the Raspberry Pi is the GPIO  (general purpose input output) 40 pins along the top edge of the board, through it, we can perform open source major and minor project.

9. ARM CPU/GPU -- The Raspberry Pi uses the ARM11 series processor, The CPU is responsible for carrying instructions of the computer through logical and mathematical operations,
The GPU is responsible for designed to speed up the operation of image calculations.

Raspberry Pi Foundation Motive

The main aim of Raspberry Pi foundation is that promote the teaching of programming language and basic computer science in schools and colleges in developing countries.

The creators wanted a computer that kids could learn to code on without worrying about breaking the family's $180 desktop computer.   

The original model became far more popular than anticipated, thanks to its small size and affordable price, it was quickly adopted by the programmer, makers and electronic enthusiasts for projects.

It's gained popularity due to its usage in robotics and programming language like python.

Raspberry Pi consists of Two models, Model A, and Model B.
The difference between both the model is Ethernet Port. Model A  board consumes less power but it hasn't an Ethernet Port,
 On the other hand, the Model B board includes an Ethernet port. It comes with the technology of communication and multimedia web technologies.

The operating system in Raspberry Pi.

'Raspbian' is the official operating system of the Raspberry Pi and its used the version of Linux built specially for the  Raspberry Pi.
 It comes with a full GUI and a whole range of software installed for programmer such as python for java developer scratch.

Raspberry Pi 3 is the most used model, it contains inbuilt wifi, Bluetooth and one LAN port along with 4 USB port 1 HDMI port, 1 display port, 1 camera port and 1 A/V port. 
 One thing it haven't a storage source that's why we use micro sd card for storage , in which card your OS is install for start your raspberry Pi .

After showing is succeeded in the international market, Raspberry Pi foundation launched another model of Raspberry Pi
