Windows vs Linux

Windows and Linux both OS are very popular in the world, but both the OS have some merits and demerits.
In this post, Compare both OS according to their features and try to find out, Who is the best?

Windows Vs LinuxVs

What's Windows OS?

Windows was produced by Microsoft in  November 1985, it's a licensed operating system in which source code is not open for users, is based on closed source OS.

Windows Vs Linux

Users of Windows said that it is a very simple and straightforward OS for use.
It has been updated from time to time since, as the memory of the computer has got bigger, the processing unit has got faster.

When the internet was invented, the priority of Windows goes up to apex level  in the OS market

Its default user interface is Graphical.  Windows mostly used a microkernel.
Windows OS  is extensible, portable, symmetric multiprocessing and client-server computing.

What's Linux?

Linux was created by Linus Torvalds in 1991,  Linux is a free and open source operating system, In Linux, its code is open for the public to view, edit.
Windows Vs Linux

You may have heard of Unix, Unix is an OS created by Dennis Ritchie, and others at Bell labs in 1970.
Unix and Linux both are proportional to each other. Linux was originally created to be similar to Unix.

Linux is a kernel based operating system, Linux kernel to provide all of the necessary components of a fully functional OS.

On the other hand, if we can talk about it customize level its have different software options. This means that Linux is customizable.

Compare Windows vs Linux

1. Cost

Linux - Linux is totally free of cost OS.

Windows -Windows is a paid OS. If you want to get the licensed version of Windows, you will be paid the expensive amount for it.

2. Source Code In Windows Vs Linux

Linux - Linux is based on open source.
programming code is available for the user.

Windows - It's based on closed close. Users are not able to see its code.

3. Customize level In Windows Vs Linux

Linux - due to open source it's customizable.

Windows - it's not customizable because of it based on the closed source.

4. Case-level

Linux - Linux is case sensitive.

Windows - is case insensitive.

5. file system

Linux - Linux support EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, XFS, VFAT. By default its used XFS.

Windows - windows supports FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and ReFS.

6. Server In Windows Vs Linux

Linux - Linux server are command line based, and available to the public, which means the web hosting company only needs to pay for the technical support to install and maintain it.
Linux servers and software can be updated because of its open based source. It has few resources that make your system more efficient.

Windows--  Windows servers are based on GUI (Graphical User Interface) that's why it is easier to manage as compared to CLI (Command Line Interface).

It has more features than open source software does. Windows servers use scripting framework, such as is easy to install and manage as compared to other OS.

7. Security In Windows Vs Linux

Linux - Linux is an open source  OS   that's why whose code is easily available for the public, but still, its more secure Operating system in the world.

Linux give very low access is given to the users, but in other hand, Windows give full admin access to the accounts of software. When the virus strikes in the system all the files are in danger due to open access.

In Linux very high security of IP tables are used to enhance the security of the system.

Windows - If we talk about security windows security is less as compared to Linux system security.

In my opinion, Linux is the best Operating system compared to other OS, its free, secure, customizable and open source make it user-friendly, but its GUI does not look impressive that type of GUI we get in Windows,
